Azteq Nepal 2
Searching for light stalls we discovered Azteq Nepal for two people. Weighs only 2kg! We bought in 2012 and from there to here we have camped 13 times with her. On the beach, on the mountain, in the cold and in the heat. We never had any problems.
As you already have some reviews of her out there showing the specifications, let’s write about what is the day to day with this tent.
See here the reviews of I went camping and the Wanderer of the Island.
How It Behaves:
In the times when we camped in Ilha Grande or another beach place in the summer this tent was super cool!Because it is almost completely screened and has two doors, when it is all open it always has a little wind coming in at bedtime. The screen is very translucent and not to take away the privacy we take a clothes catch and we leave the door of the sobreteto half open, thus the angle of vision prevents that they see inside the tent.
We already camped in Ilha Grande in the summer with a Super Squirrel 2 of Trails and Rumos and it was an absurd heat !! There was not a breeze in the tent with that advance. And I was crazy to have such a breakthrough.
Already in the times when we camped in a cold place like the Stone of the Bell or the Castles of the Açu I confess that the Super Squirrels 2 of the Trails and Rumos is a 3 degrees more warm. But in Azteq Nepalall you have to do is leave all the doors and windows tightly closed and if it is very cold windy, put pebbles in the skirt of the sobreteto so the wind does not enter. Usually we put the sneakers inside on top of the skirt, so everything is perfectly fitted.
We already got a lot of rain on the bell and a lot of wind on some crossings and none of that shook the tent. Never has a drop inside it and its structure has never been affected by the winds.
Whoever has that kind of tent needs to have, say … A little patience. You can not put the rod so easily, throw the knapsacks and that’s it. 80% of the time when we ride, we need to lose a few minutes making adjustments. Usually after placing the rod and the spikes, one of the doors is loose on the floor. Or there’s a huge crease on the floor right in the middle of the tent. But the worst of problems is when the body’s screen touches the overhead. At these times you have to increase or decrease the size of the regulator tape that holds the tent in the mirror and take a look to see if it worked and if, if not, what is likely to happen, redo the adjustments until you get regular without there Between the two parties. This last tip is important, if it rains you will thank me.
Amazingly, it seems to say that we have to make adjustments, once we set up this tent running, already in the rain, in that lukewarm fusco early in the night, in a hurry, riding anyway, without adjusting anything and it did not work out And yet there was no drop? I’m telling you! This tent is wonderful!
What is cooler in the assembly of this tent is that the superteto is attached to the body by a pair of dowels. Very practical!
Another very practical thing in this tent is the packaging, says SleepingBagsExpo. Who never had a problem dismantling the camp and keeping the tent in that little bag? The difficult thing! With Azteq this does not happen. Just fold the cloths all up to form a square and put in the bag that is also square! In it has compartment proper for rod and a sachet for the speques. After all inside, just roll and fasten with 2 velcro that already comes sewn in the bag. When we have to walk less than 15 minutes with the tent to the campsite, we carry the bag in our hand. But when we are going to make a crossing or something, we take the overcoat stuck outside a backpack and the body with the rod in the bag stuck in another backpack. 1 kg each.
Most of the time we go camping with 2 backpacks. The biggest (Deuter Quantum 55 liters) we leave inside the tent, in the foot, with all the things that we are going to use. The tent is very long so what is left is right the space of the EVA where we sleep. In this part of the foot the screen is very loose and falls squatting in space, already the sobreteto in this part has a cord that we hold as high as possible, considerably increasing the internal space, especially with a backpack inside.
The other backpack, a smaller and more structured (Deuter Futura 35 liters) we leave inside the raincoat in one of the advancês of the tent. Inside it we put the things we will not use so much. Also in the avancê we put sneakers and boots, walking sticks, garbage bag and much more.
The inner space of the tent has a part in the middle which is wider. This is where the knee goes at bedtime, making it comfortable for two people to sleep without any problems.
Inside the tent has a pocket on each side, so each person has a place to put their belongings. On the ceiling there is a hook where we fasten the flashlight and it also has a window on each side. The cool thing about this window is that it has a zipper opening inside and half and a half when there is some noise from outside we can see here or even pick up a little.
One more good thing is that the floor never has anything stuck on the outside when we dismantle and store. It is just to turn inside out, to shake and untap and shake again that everything that is sand and dirt comes out. I already had a tent to wash when I got home but this one we rarely wash. Only when we literally camped on the beach.
An important detail is that the zipper of the door has a tied cord that makes it easy to open and close, but in compensation does not make sense to place a lock since this cord is attached only with a knot. Since we had this tent we never put a lock. We trust in the places and that if someone wants to steal, that someone will rip the tent right?
Size, Azteq Nepal Measured In Centimeters:
To give you a better idea of the size of this Azteq tent inside, I made this design with the measurements. The blue is like the inflatable insulation Essential Light Mat Camp . They are 180cm x 45cm. Theinsulating A200 Ultralight Quechua has 180cm x 50cm and also fits perfectly.
Because We Found The Tent AZTEQ Nepal Great:
It weighs 2 kilos; It is easy to dismantle and store in the bag itself; Very resistant to torrential rain and wind; The dirt does not stick to the floor; Spacious; Has 2 windows; Has 2 doors; Is ultra-ventilated, all screened; Has 2 advancês; Has 2 internal pockets.
